Do you offer any "green" pest control options?
A: ASAP practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which consists of a treatment plan of pest control measures designed to reduce or eliminate pests while minimizing customer concerns regarding pesticides, and may include repair or exclusion work, improvements in sanitation, interior/exterior baiting, harborage reduction, habitat modification and other alternative controls.
What is "IPM"?
A: Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is the practice of using improved sanitation, exclusion, cultural controls, habitat manipulation, trapping, and targeted pesticide application to control or reduce pest problems. In other words, we use knowledge and common sense to prevent pests, not just pesticides.
Are ASAP pest control technicians licensed? How can I recognize an ASAP pest control technician?
A: Our pest control technicians are state-licensed and certified pest control professionals. Technicians carry licenses in pest control inspection and application, termite control, wildlife work and mole/vole control. These licenses require ongoing training and education and a demonstration of knowledge of pest biology, pest control materials application safety, pest control treatment rules and regulations and proper sanitation. Do you require a long-term pest control contract?
A: No, our service agreements are based on what each person wants and needs with regard to pest control for their home. We offer as-needed pest control services as well as monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly service plans. None of our pest control or termite control programs come with any contracts, fine print or hidden charges/gimmicks. If you do elect an ongoing pest control maintenance program, you may discontinue your service at any time without penalty, no questions asked.
Do you accept credit cards for pest control service or termite treatments?
A: Yes, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. You may pay via invoice, in person, by mail or over the phone.
When I call your office with a pest problem, how fast can you respond with pest control treatment?
A: We will respond with a pest control solution to all calls within 24 hours – guaranteed or your service is free! Emergency calls (calls received outside of normal business hours) will be returned within four hours and responded to at an agreed upon time between ASAP and the pest control customer.
When you come to perform my pest control treatment, how long will it take?
A: It depends on the type of pests at stake and many other factors including degree of infestation, surrounding environment/conducive conditions, weather and more. Your ASAP technician will recommend things you can do to reduce pest pressure around your home.
Can I be at home during my pest control service or do I need to leave?
A: You do not need to vacate your home for any period of time during or following your pest control service. Advise your pest control technician of any sensitive persons, pets or areas requiring extra care upon arrival. We understand that some areas are especially sensitive and care will be taken to avoid exposure to these areas by pest control treatments.
Is there anything I need to do to my home prior to pest control treatment?
A: Your pest control technician will advise you of any areas he/she will need access to treat for pests, and may ask you to move certain items such as childrens’ toys, pet food/water, and other personal belongings in areas which require pest control treatment.
I have a bug in my house and I don’t know what it is. Can you help me?
A: Sure! Our pest control technicians can usually identify a pest by asking you a few questions about where you found the pest, what the pest looks like, etc.. Occasionally, we may ask for an intact pest specimen to identify those less common pests.
If an exterior pest control treatment is performed on my house right before it rains, will the pest control treatment wash away?
A: Pest control materials applied to eaves, around windows, under patio covers and other common exterior pest harborage areas are highly effective even if it rains. The pest control products we use to treat the exterior of your home are designed to be weather-resistant and long-lasting, creating a pest-proof barrier around your home for up to months at a time. Do I have to empty my cupboards before the interior of my house receives a pest control treatment?
A: For just a general pest control treatment inside, you will not need to empty any cabinets or disturb any of your belongings in your home. However, depending on the type of pest, location of pest infestation and pest control treatments necessary, you may be asked to do so. For cockroach infestations in the kitchen, or pantry pest problems, we would require full access to cabinets and pantry areas to perform an effective pest control treatment.
Help! I think I have bed bugs. Can you get rid of bed bugs?
A: Yes, but treating for and ridding of bedbugs requires more treatment and effort than can be provided in just a single general pest control treatment. Bedbugs are perhaps the most difficult pests we face, and bedbug treatment consists of much more than just application of pest control treatment materials. We handle each bedbug case on an individual basis, and will perform a FREE bedbug inspection along with written treatment recommendations and estimate for service before beginning any treatment.
How are pests getting inside my house?
A: There are often many areas around the exterior of the home that can be highly conducive to pests. These may include vents, windows, eaves, debris around the home, landscaping, ivy, utility penetrations, doorways and even the smallest of cracks and crevices, almost invisible to the naked eye.
Before performing any pest control treatment, ASAP pest control technicians do an thorough inspection and walk-around of your house to help identify any problem areas. We’ll note any pest problems on your inspection form, and make suggestions as to what can be done to reduce pest pressure. Can you help get rid of mice or other rodents?
